A quick update

Hi everyone,

We sure have been busy this summer!  As most of you know, we had our Kaleidosaurus Kiddie Carnival a few weeks ago and it was a blast!  During the Carnival, we introduced two very exciting additions to our museum.  First, Herbula Love Bug!  Next time you come to the Museum, make sure you look out for the giant bug on the roof!  Some of you may recognize the shiny red shell as our old Volkswagen Bug that used to be next to the Diner.  Eric Schultz, a local found object artist, was kind enough to design & create Herbula for us.  You can read the story of Herbula next time you come to the Museum.  Here are a few pictures of the bug during installation.

We also introduced our new mascot, the Kaleidosaurus!  That’s his picture right up there ^.  Keep your eyes peeled for him because he is all over the Museum.  You can even buy your very own Kaleidosaurus to bring home with you!

So many exciting things have been happening around here, and there are even more to come!  That being said, we need your help sorting out a few things for next season’s programming.  We’re planning a very special theme this October (grab the next newsletter to find out!) and we just need you parents to answer one quick question:  What was your favorite toy when you were a child?  Please leave your choice in the comment section.  Thanks for all your help!

Best,

Christina

Parents’ Picks 2008

Hi everyone,

I was just informed that we were nominated for Nickelodeon’s Parents’ Picks 2008 in the Best Museum category!  How exciting!

If you love the GSDM as much as we do, please vote for us!  It’s incredibly easy.  All you have to do is go to www.parentsconnect.com/parentspicks.  Register to vote (all you need is your name, e-mail and zip code) and choose Philadelphia for the city.  Scroll down to the Best Museum category and cast your vote!

Thank you so much for all your support.

Cheers!

Christina

A quick update…

Hi everybody!

Just wanted to let you know that you can finally book your birthday parties online!  Head over to the Super Birthday page to check it out.  You can also pre-purchase your Kaleidosaurus Carnival wristbands on the same site and have them waiting for you when you get here.  More good things to come!

Love,

Christina

Our first entry!

Hi everyone!

Welcome to our blog!  It’s Sunday morning on Memorial Day weekend, so I thought I would take a quick moment to say hi before it gets busy around here.  Keep checking back for updates on programs, new exhibits, community outreach and all the other wonderful things that happen here every day.  Feel free to comment as well!  We love to hear from you.  See you back here soon!

Love,

Christina

P.S.  Don’t forget about the Kaleidosaurus Kiddie Carnival!  June 26-29 (that’s a Thursday through Sunday).  Check the calendar for more details.  See you there!
